Getting there

The only way to reach Siquijor Island is by water—no driving, no flying. While there are many jump points across the Philippines, the most efficient way is by taking a passenger ferry from Dumaguete Port or Cebu Port.

For those coming from Manila City or arriving in Manila, we recommend taking the Dumaguete route. This means a quick flight to Dumaguete, followed by a short sea trip (only 45 to 75 mins). Ferries depart from Dumaguete Port frequently, with departures available every hour.

For those coming from Cebu City or arriving in Cebu, or wanting to do a quick side trip in Cebu, you can take a ferry ride from Cebu City to Siquijor. However, there are fewer ferry runs per day and takes about 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a less than an hour flight from Cebu City to Dumaguete and then take the ferry from there.

Here’s a short unapologetic visual guide for each route:

Here’s a sample itinerary if you will be transiting via Manila:

  1. Arrange to arrive in Manila at 10am or earlier in the morning (Most international flights land at NAIA Terminal 1).

  2. Take a cab or Grab taxi to NAIA Terminal 2 or Terminal 3 (Domestic Terminals- depending on the airline you book).

  3. Catch the next available flight to Dumaguete and arrange to arrive in Dumaguete before mid or around mid-afternoon.

  4. Take a cab/tuktuk to Dumaguete ferry terminal, and board the ferry to Siquijor.

  5. Once at Siquijor Pier, Coco Grove Resort will pick you up.

Here’s a sample itinerary if you will be transiting via Cebu:

  1. Arrange to arrive in Cebu by 10am at the latest. All international flights arrive at Terminal 2.

  2. Take a cab or Grab taxi to Cebu Pier 1 Passenger Terminal.

  3. Catch the OceanJet ferry to Siquijor, which leaves at 1pm. The boat will have a 30-minute stop in Tagbilaran, Bohol, and will then continue to Siquijor (passengers from Cebu will stay on board).

  4. The journey takes about 4-4.5 hours, arriving in Siquijor around 5pm, where Coco Grove Resort will pick you up.

OceanJet also offers two trips daily to Siquijor from Cebu, with the other one departing at 5:10am. You can easily book your tickets via OceanJet's Facebook Messenger and their website.

Quick note: There are two ports in Siquijor (Larena and Siquijor Pier). Some ferries dock in Larena, which is a 45-minute drive to Coco Grove, so please be mindful of the vessel trip you book.

Alternatively, you can fly from Cebu to Dumaguete (refer to Dumaguete to Siquijor details above). Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific offer flights—check their websites for timetables.

OceanJet Ferry operator is recommended and their website booking is easy.

Coco Grove's website has much more details including ferry times from the ports, flights and pick/drop details.

To our guests from outside the Philippines, we recommend that you download the Grab app for transportation ease.
